1. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Important Warnings

Before using your appliance read this instructions manual carefully and keep it in

a safe place as you may need to consult it in the future.

Before turning on your appliance, and to ensure a safe and correct operation, do

not use if:

• It has fallen to the ground;

• You notice any evidence of damage;

• Any anomaly occurs during its operation.

Warning: to avoid the risk of electric shock, do not

remove the cover. The interior does not contain any parts

that can be repaired by the user. Ask for assistance from

qualied personnel.

To avoid hazards or deterioration of your appliance through incorrect use it is

advisable to read these instructions thoroughly.

Your appliance may not be used for other purposes than the ones intended and

solely for household use. Any damage resulting from using the appliance outside

this scope, any incorrect use, as well as any manual modications to the product

will not be covered and automatically voids the warranty.

Assistance

In case of malfunction, take your appliance to a qualied technician for

assistance.

This appliance can be used by children from the age of 8 and by people with

reduced physical, sensorial or mental capabilities and/or lack of experience

and knowledge if they have been given instructions on using the appliance

safely and if they understand the hazards involved. Children may not play with

the appliance. Cleaning and maintenance must not be carried out by children

without supervision.

1.1. Power Supply

Make sure the main voltage is compatible with the appliance’s. If this is not the

case please consult the Customer Support Service.

1.2. Power Cord and Other Cables

Do not tangle the cord or pull it to disconnect the appliance. Also, keep the cord

away from warm surfaces.

Never use the appliance if it has a damaged cable or socket.

Take it to the Technical Support Service for replacement.

1.3. Humidity and Water

Do not use your appliance in humid places. Do not allow the appliance to

become wet under any circumstances as this may be dangerous. To avoid re

hazard or electric shock do not expose your appliance to humidity or water.

Furthermore, do not place your appliance under water (e.g. for cleaning).

1.4. General Precautions

• Please follow the instructions in the user manual which help to properly install

and operate this product and enjoy its advanced features. Please keep the

instructions for future reference.

• Read all instructions before using the product.

• Maintenance and service operations are only to be carried out by authorized

professionals.

• Any damage caused by manual modications to the product is not covered by

the warranty.

• If this product is used for other purposes than the ones originally intended,

or if it is not correctly connected, the product may become damaged and the

warranty will be voided.

• To protect against electric shock, do not immerse your FRESH UNIT in water

or other liquids.

• Do not operate the appliance on wet, hot surfaces or outdoors.

• Do not operate the appliance if it malfunctions or is in any way damaged.

• Closely supervise children when using any appliance and do not allow the

appliance to be used as a toy.

• This appliance is not to be used by individuals with reduced physical, sensory

or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have

been given supervision or instruction.

2.2. Using the Product

IMPORTANT TIPS

• Do not place lids or FRESH UNIT in the microwave or dishwasher.

• Vacuum storage is not a substitution of freezing, canning or refrigerating food.

• Perishables still need to be stored in a refrigerator.

• Your FRESH UNIT can ONLY be used in combination with FRESH BOX

Canisters.

• Crumbs or food residues on the FRESH BOX Lids or valve gaps may cause

failure in vacuuming.

• Do not overll the FRESH BOX Canister with food or liquid.

• Store the FRESH BOX Canister in an upright position.

• Deformation of the Airtight Seal Ring may occur during vacuuming. This is

normal and will not have any inuence on the performance.

• FRESH BOX Canisters should not be stored in the freezer.

• DO NOT lift up the FRESH BOX Lid when vacuuming.

IMPORTANT TIPS

• DO NOT USE ANY OF THE PARTS IN THE MICROWAVE.

• DO NOT IMMERSE THE FRESH BOX LID INTO WATER.

• DO NOT VACUUM ANY HEATED FOOD.

BENEFITS OF THE FRESH BOX

You are about to enjoy the benets of your FRESH BOX. The FRESH BOX is

used in combination with the FRESH BOX Canisters.

• Your FRESH BOX is designed to help you to keep your food fresh up to

5 times longer and to store your prepared meals and various foods in the

FRESH BOX Canisters.

• The FRESH BOX Vacuum Storage System:

- Evacuates the air out of the canisters and creates airtight storage keeping

food fresh longer, for pantry or refrigerator use.

- Will also help to preserve the taste of foods and meals longer, avoiding other

odours or humidity.

- Can be used as well for quick marinating. The marinating process will

take minutes instead of hours, due to the help of the vacuum power that

penetrates the marinades much faster into the food.

- Ideal to prepare meals, meats, sh, fruits, vegetables, salads, cookies, bread,

sauces, cheese, salami, ham, etc.

• The FRESH BOX Vacuum Storage System will help you to save money as you

will waste less food!

FEATURES OF THE FRESH BOX

• Unique one touch hands-free operation: Just put the FRESH UNIT on top of

the FRESH BOX Lid and press the “Start” button once. The unit will evacuate

the FRESH BOX Canister’s air in seconds.

• Auto-vacuum sensor: When the vacuuming is nished, the FRESH UNIT will

stop automatically, the LED indicator will switch-o and the FRESH UNIT unit

will pop up.

• One-touch release: To remove the FRESH BOX Lid, just press the Release

button and then remove the FRESH BOX Lid easily with the help of the

Non-slip Tabs.

BEFORE FIRST USE

• Before rst use, remove all the plastic bags, cardboard and paper packaging.

• Clean all the FRESH BOX Canisters in soapy water and dry them thoroughly

before use or storage.

• The FRESH BOX lid should only be cleaned with a soft brush or cloth without

immersing in water.

• Install 4 x AA batteries as described below.

INSTALLING THE BATTERIES:

STEP 1.

Remove the removable Lid and battery cover from the top of

the FRESH UNIT.

STEP 2.

Insert the batteries making sure they are aligned correctly

with the positive (+) and negative (-) polarities.

TIPS & REMINDERS

LOW POWER INDICATION

When the batteries are low in power, the backlight of

the “Start” button will blink. Please replace the batteries

immediately.

The FRESH UNIT will be sucked into the FRESH BOX Lid

tightly during vacuuming, wait for a while until it is released

automatically.

NOTICE:

• Replace all batteries of a set at the same time.

• New batteries should not be mixed with used ones.

• Do not mix rechargeable and non-rechargeable batteries.

• Do not mix dierent battery grades, types or brands.

STARTING TO USE YOUR FRESH BOX

Make sure your FRESH UNIT and the FRESH BOX Canisters are operated on a

at, dry surface and follow the instructions described in the STEPS below:

STEP 1.

Place the food inside the FRESH BOX Canister. Set the

FRESH BOX Lid on top and press rmly until there is no gap

between the Airtight Seal Ring and the FRESH BOX Canister.

STEP 2.

Place the FRESH UNIT in the middle of the FRESH BOX Lid

and make sure that the FRESH UNIT is well centred on top of

the Release button. Otherwise, no air will be evacuated from

the FRESH BOX Canister.

STEP 3.

Press the “Start” Button once. The FRESH UNIT is now

evacuating the air out of the FRESH BOX Canister.

• Working: the LED will display until the vacuuming process is

nished.

• It will stop automatically and pop up when nished.

REMINDER:

AFTER VACUUMING: Place the FRESH BOX Canister with

food in the refrigerator/freezer after vacuuming,

if necessary.

Prior to opening the FRESH BOX Lid, you need to release the

vacuum in the FRESH BOX Canister; simply press the Release

button in the middle of the FRESH BOX Lid.

TIPS & REMINDER

• If the sensor detects that the vacuuming cannot be triggered properly, the

FRESH UNIT will keep running for approximately 5 minutes, and then it will

stop automatically. Please always make sure that the FRESH UNIT is correctly

placed on the centre of the FRESH BOX Lid when in use.

• Vacuuming time depends on the capacity of the FRESH BOX Canister as well

as the amount of food inside.

2.3. Maintenance

• Take out the batteries when the FRESH UNIT is not in use for long periods of

time.

• Do not immerse the FRESH UNIT or the FRESH BOX Lid in water or any other

liquids.

• The FRESH UNIT and the FRESH BOX Lid should only be cleaned with a (soft)

damp cloth and then dried with a cloth. Do not use abrasive cleansers or scouring

pads to clean the surface of the appliance.

FRESH BOX CLEANING

Remove the Magic Seal from the bottom of the FRESH UNIT.

The removable Lid and Magic Seal can be washed in soapy

water.

NOTICE:

DO NOT immerse the Main Unit into any liquid.

The housing can only be cleaned with a damp cloth.

BECKEN LID CLEANING

The dirt protector can be removed if necessary.

Pull out the dirt protector.

Use the brush with a soft bre to clean the valve hole and

make sure there is no food residues left after cleaning.

If liquid has gone into the FRESH BOX Lid, please drain the

liquid via the drain holes. Do not start vacuuming until the

FRESH BOX Lid is cleared of the liquid and dry.

REMINDER:

Food residues in the valve may block vacuuming. Do not immerse the

canister lid into water or other liquids.

VACUUM CANISTER CLEANING

The Vacuum Canister is dishwasher safe, except its lid. It can

be also washed in warm, soapy water, and then rinsed well

and dried thoroughly.

2.4. Troubleshooting

If the BECKEN Vacuum Storage System does not operate properly, please

follow the steps below for troubleshooting.

• Make sure the batteries have enough power left. The FRESH UNIT does not

work properly with low power batteries.

• Ensure the Magic Seal of the FRESH UNIT is placed correctly.

• Ensure the FRESH UNIT is centred on the FRESH BOX Lid when vacuuming.

• Make sure there are no gaps or food residues between the FRESH BOX Lid

and the FRESH BOX Canister, as well as between the valve and the lid.

3. AFTER-SALES SERVICE

BECKEN has designed this appliance in order to guarantee maximum reliability.

However, if a problem occurs do not attempt to open the appliance - there is a

risk of electrical shock. If you are not able to solve the problem, please contact

the Costumer Support Service of any Worten, Modelo or Continente store

in order to be assisted. Worten Equipamentos para o Lar provides a 2-year

warranty for manufacturing defects from the date of purchase of the appliance.

WARNING: Any attempt to repair the appliance without contacting the

manufacturer or seller will void the warranty.

All users must be familiar with these instructions. Knowing what could go wrong

can help prevent problems from occurring.

4. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

In order to protect the environment we strive to reduce the

volume of packaging used, limiting it to three easily sorted

materials: cardboard, paper and plastic. The appliance is

manufactured using recyclable materials after disassembled

by a specialized company. Please comply with local

regulations concerning the recycling of all materials.
