1. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Important Warnings

Before using your appliance read these instructions manual carefully

and keep it in a safe place as you may need to consult it in the future.

Before turning on your appliance, and to ensure a safe and correct

operation, do not use if:

• It has fallen to the ground;

• You notice any evidence of damage;

This appliance can be used by children from the age of 8 and by

people with reduced physical, sensorial or mental capabilities and/or

lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given instructions

on using the appliance safely and if they understand the hazards

involved. Children may not play with the appliance. Cleaning and

maintenance must not be carried out by children without supervision.

1.1. Power Supply

Make sure the main voltage is compatible with the appliance’s. If this is

not the case, please consult the Customer Support Service.

1.2. Power Cord and Other Cables

Do not tangle the cord or pull it to disconnect the appliance. Also, keep

the cord away from warm surfaces.

Never use the appliance if it has a damaged cable or socket.

Take it to the Customer Support Service for replacement.

1.3. Humidity and Water

Do not use your appliance in humid places. Do not allow the appliance

to become wet under any circumstances as this may be dangerous.

To avoid re hazard or electric shock do not expose your appliance

to humidity or water. Furthermore, do not place your appliance under

water (e.g. for cleaning).

1.4. Cleaning

Before cleaning, be sure to switch o the appliance and remove the

plug from the main power supply. Always allow the unit to cool down

before cleaning.

To clean the exterior of the product, use a dry soft cloth only.

• Read the following contents thoroughly and ensure you understand

them.

• Do not modify this appliance.

• This appliance must be installed by an authorised technician or

installer.

• Prior to installation, ensure that the local distribution conditions

(nature of the gas and gas pressure) and the adjustment of the

appliance are compatible.

• The adjustment conditions for this appliance are stated on the label

(or data plate).

• This appliance is not connected to an evacuation device for

combustion products. It should be installed and connected in

accordance with current installation regulations. Particular attention

should be given to the relevant requirements regarding ventilation.

• Before installing, turn o the gas and electricity supply to the

appliance.

• All appliances containing any electrical components must be

earthed.

• Ensure that the gas pipe and electrical cable are installed in such a

way that they do not touch any parts of the appliance which may

become hot.

• The gas pipe and the connector shouldn’t be bent or blocked by any

other appliances.

• Check the dimensions of the appliance as well as the dimensions of

the gap to be cut in the kitchen unit.

• The panels located above the work surface, directly next to the

appliance, must be made of non-ammable material. Both the

material where it will be placed and the glue used to secure it should

be heat resistant, to prevent deterioration.

• Turn on the appliance tap and light each burner. Check for a clear

blue ame without yellow tipping.

• If the burners show any abnormalities check that:

- The burner lid is on correctly

- The ame spreader is positioned correctly

- The burner is vertically aligned with the injector nipple

• A full operational test and a test for possible leakages must be

carried out by the tter after installation.

• The exible hose must be tted in such a way that it cannot come

into contact with a moveable part of the housing unit and does not

pass through any space susceptible of becoming congested.

• Grease cranes produced at the factory to meet the requirement of

all life hob.

• WARNING: Disregarding this sign may result in severe personal injury

or death.

The following symbols will appear on the control panel, next to each

control handle:

Black circle: gas o

Large ame: maximum setting

Small ame: minimum setting

• The minimum setting can be selected by fully rotating the control

knob anti-clockwise.

• All operation positions must he selected between the maximum and

minimum position.

• The symbol on the control panel, next to the control handle will

indicate which burner it operates.

Automatic ignition with ame failure safety device

The appliance is tted with a ame failure safety device on each

burner, which is designed to stop the ow of gas to the burner head in

the event of the ame going out.

2.2. Using the Product

Positioning

CLEARANCES REQUIRED WHEN FITTING THE

HOB WITH AN OVERHANGING COOKER HOOD:

• This appliance is to be built into a kitchen unit or a 600-mm wide

worktop, providing the following minimum distances are allowed;

- The edges of the hob must be at a minimum distance of 60 mm

from a side or rear wall.

- 700 mm between the highest point of the hob surface (including

the burners) and the underside of any horizontal surface directly

above it.

- 400 mm between the hob surfaces, providing that the underside of

the horizontal surface is in line with the outer edge of the hob. If the

underside of the horizontal surface is less than 400 mm from the

surface of the hob, then it must be at least 50 mm away from the

outer edges of the hob.

- 50 mm clearance around the appliance and between the hob

surface and any combustible materials.

- You must have a gap of at least 25 mm and at most 74 mm

between the underside of the appliance and any surface that is

below it.

• An oven must have forced ventilation to install a hob above it.

• Check the dimensions of the oven in the installation manual.

• The cut-out size must obey the abovementioned requirements.

Installing the appliance

1. Remove the pan supports, the

burner lid and ame spreader

and carefully turn the appliance

upside down and place it on

a cushioned mat.

Take care that the ignition

devices and ame supervision

devices are not damaged in this

operation.

2. Apply the provided spiral around

the edge of the appliance.

3. Apply the sealing agent sparingly

while ensuring that a proper seal

is formed.

Sponge

The thickness of the sponge is 3

mm. The width of the sponge is

10 mm.

Bottom view

Do not use a silicon sealant to seal the

appliance against the aperture.

This will make it diicult to remove

the appliance from the aperture in the

future, particularly if it needs to be

serviced.

1. Place the bracket (B) over the holes

that match the size of the screws.

There is one set of screw holes in

each corner of the hob (H).

Slightly tighten a screw (C) through

the bracket (B) so that the bracket is

attached to the hob, but so that you

can still adjust the position of the

hob.

2. Carefully turn the hob back over and

then gently lower it into the aperture

hole that you have cut out.

3. On the underside of the hob, adjust

the brackets into a position that is

suitable for your worktop.

Then fully tighten the screws (C) to

secure the hob into position.

Gas Connection

• This appliance must be installed and connected in accordance with

installation regulations in force in the country in which the appliance

is to be used.

• This appliance is supplied to run on LPG and natural gas.

Conversion for use on LPG and natural gases must only be

undertaken by a qualied person.

installation and use regulations.

Electrical Connection

• This appliance must be earthed.

• This appliance is designed to be connected to a 220-240 V, 50/60

Hz AC electricity supply.

• The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the

following code;

- Green/yellow = Earth

- Blue = Neutral

- Brown = Live

• The wire which is coloured green and yellow must be connected

to the terminal which is marked with the letter E or by the earth

symbol.

• Take precautions on the operations and adjustments to be carried

out when converting from one type of gas supply to another.

• All work must be carried out by a qualied technician.

• Before you begin, turn o the gas and the electricity supply to the

appliance.

1. Change the injector on the burners.

Remove the pan support, Burner lid and

Flame spreader.

Unscrew the injector using a 7-mm

box spanner and replace it with the

appropriate injector for the new gas

supply. Carefully reassemble all the

components.

After the injectors are replaced, it

is advisable to strongly tighten the

injectors in place.

2. Adjustment of the minimum level of the ame

Turn the taps down to minimum.

Remove the knob from the tap and

place a small bladed screwdriver in the

centre of the tap shaft.

The correct adjustment is obtained

when the ame has a length of about

3 - 4 mm.

For butane/propane gas, the adjusting

screw must be tightly screwed in.

Ret the control knob.

Make sure that the ame does not go

out by quickly turning from maximum

ow to minimum ow. If it does then

remove the control knob and make

further adjustments to the gas ow,

testing it again once the adjustment has

been made.

Repeat this process for each one of the

gas taps.

• Do not dismantle the tap shaft: in the event of a malfunction, change

the whole tap.

• Before placing the burners back on, make sure that the injector is

not blocked.

• A full operational test and a test for possible leakages must be

carried out after gas conversion, (by using soapy water or a gas

detector)

• After completing the conversion, a qualied technician or installer

has to mark the right gas category with a “V” to match the setting

on the rating plate. Remove the “V” mark for the previous setting.

- Do not turn on the light.

- Do not switch electrical appliances on or o and do not touch any

electric plug.

- Do not use a telephone.

3 Contact our Customer Support Service by using a phone outside.

• IThe fuel gas contains mercaptan, so that you can smell the gas leak

(rotten garlic or egg smell) even when the gas is present in the air in

a ratio of 1/1000.

Installation

WARNING

• This appliance must be

• The adjustment conditions for this appliance are stated on the label

or data plate.

• Remove all packaging before using the appliance.

• After unpacking the appliance, make sure it is not damaged and that

the power cord is in perfect condition. If this is not the case, contact

the Customer Support Service before installing the appliance.

• Adjacent furniture and all materials used in the installation of the

appliance must be able to withstand a minimum temperature of

85°C above the ambient temperature of the room it is located in.

• In the event of burner ames being accidentally blown out, turn

o the burner control and do not attempt to re-ignite the burner

for at least one minute.

• The use of a gas cooking appliance results in the production of

heat and moisture in the room in which it is installed. Ensure that

the kitchen is well ventilated: keep natural ventilation holes open or

install a mechanical ventilation device (mechanical extractor hood).

• Prolonged intensive use of the appliance may call for additional

ventilation, by for example opening a window, or through more

eective ventilation, by for example increasing the level of

mechanical ventilation where it is available.

This appliance should be installed by a qualied technician or

installer.
