ATTENZIONE! Prima di usare questo apparecchio elettrico, per
eseguire correttamente lo spostamento, la messa in servizio,
l’avviamento, l’arresto e la manutenzione, leggete ed applicate
attentamente le istruzioni di seguito riportate che fanno riferimento
ai disegni ed ai dati tecnici contenuti nel foglio allegato. Prima
di iniziare il lavoro prendete familiarità con i comandi e con il
corretto uso della macchina assicurandoVi di saperla arrestare in
caso di emergenza. L’uso improprio della macchina può provocare
gravi ferite.
Pensate sempre alla Vostra e altrui sicurezza e comportateVi di
conseguenza. Conservate con cura ed a portata di mano queste
istruzioni. Queste istruzioni si riferiscono ad un utensile elettrico
fabbricato in più modelli e versioni; leggete attentamente le istru-
zioni ed applicatele a quello in vostro possesso.
ATTENZIONE! La macchina è idonea solo per tagliare erba nei
giardini e lungo i bordi delle aiuole. Ogni altro impiego, diverso da
quello indicato in queste istruzioni, può recare danno alla macchina
e costituire serio pericolo per l’utilizzatore.

nel caso di acquisto di una apparecchiatura nuova anologa. Lo
smaltimento abusivo dei rifiuti comporta l’applicazione di sanzioni
amministative.

14 Staccate la spina di alimentazione se il cavo è danneggiato o
impigliato.

facciano leva sulla protezione in plastica in quanto si potrebbe
deformare o spezzare.
16 La macchina é dotata di un dispositivo per la limitazione del
rumore che avvia il motore con qualche attimo di ritardo dopo
l’azionamento dell’interruttore.
NORME DI SICUREZZA GENERALI
I SACCHI DI PLASTICA NON SONO DEI GIOCATTOLI
ATTENZIONE! Pericolo di soffocamento. I sacchi di plastica pre-
senti nell’imballaggio possono provocare soffocamento se infilati
sul capo e devono essere tenuti lontani dai bambini; se non più
riutilizzabili devono essere tagliati e smaltiti nei rifiuti.
1) Questo apparecchio non può essere utilizzato da bambini o
persone con ridotte capacità fisiche, sensoriali o mentali, o con
mancanza di esperienza e conoscenza. I bambini non devono
giocare con l’apparecchio. La pulizia e la manutenzione non deve
essere svolta da bambini.
2) Controllate sempre l’efficienza e l’integrità della macchina; se in
cattivo stato, la macchina può causare pericolo per chi la usa.
3) Prima di utilizzare la macchina e dopo qualsiasi urto, controllate
i segni di usura e di danneggiamento visibili dall’ esterno. Se
necessario, portatela presso un centro di assistenza autorizzato
per effettuare le necessarie riparazioni.
4) Non utilizzate la macchina se le protezioni sono danneggiate o
mancanti o il dispositivo di taglio non è ben inserito, fissato o è
danneggiato. Verificate la loro efficienza prima di avviare la mac-
china.
5) Prima di avviare la macchina, assicuratevi che l’elemento di taglio
non sia in contatto con sassi, detriti o corpi estranei.
6) Operate sempre con abbigliamento adeguato per evitare lesioni
al viso e agli occhi, alle mani, ai piedi al capo e all’udito: usate
occhiali o visiera di protezione, stivali alti e pantaloni robusti,
guanti da lavoro, elmetto e cuffia antirumore.
7) Durante l’avviamento del motore e quando la macchina è in
moto, tenete l’elemento di taglio lontano da ogni parte del corpo,
soprattutto mani e piedi.
8) Non avviate la macchina quando è capovolta o non è in posizione
di lavoro.
9) Spegnete il motore e staccate la macchina dalla alimentazione
elettrica quando: non la usate, la lasciate incustodita, la pulite,
la trasportate da un posto all’altro, il cavo di alimentazione o di
prolunga è danneggiato, togliete o cambiate il dispositivo di taglio
o registrate manualmente la lunghezza del filo di taglio.
10)Non trasportate la macchina tenendola per il cavo elettrico. Usate
sempre l’impugnatura.
11)Tenete la macchina lontana da persone, bambini, animali;
interrompete l’uso quando questi si trovano nelle vicinanze; in
particolare, mantenere una distanza di sicurezza come indicato
nel punto 9 della descrizione marcature e simboli: l’erba tagliata
e lanciata può contenere sassi e detriti pericolosi.
12)Quando lavorate mantenete una posizione stabile e sicura.
13)Tenete sempre l’area da tagliare libera da fili, sassi e detriti.
14)Durante l’uso non tagliate contro oggetti duri onde evitare il
pericolo di lesioni a voi e alla macchina.
15)Non utilizzate mai la macchina senza la protezione (se fornita
separata). Non utilizzate mai la macchina se la protezione è
danneggiata.
ATTENZIONE! La protezione è essenziale per la vostra ed altrui
sicurezza e per il corretto funzionamento della macchina. Il man-
cato rispetto di tale norma, oltre a creare un potenziale pericolo,
fa decadere i termini della garanzia.
16)Fate attenzione alla lametta tagliafilo (dove fornita), può causare
tagli profondi.
17)Non tentate di fermare il dispositivo di taglio (filo di taglio) con
le mani. Lasciate sempre che si fermi da solo.
ATTENZIONE! Dopo lo spegnimento della macchina l’elemento di
taglio ruota ancora per alcuni secondi.
18)Non utilizzate filo di taglio diverso dall’originale. Non usate asso-
lutamente del filo metallico al posto di quello in plastica.

19)Non utilizzate la macchina per tagliare erba che non sia a contatto
con il terreno; ad esempio non tagliate erba che si trova sui muri
o sui massi ecc.
20)Non avviate la macchina in luoghi chiusi o poco ventilati ed
in presenza di liquidi, gas, polveri ed elementi infiammabili e/o
esplosivi.
21)Nell’area di lavoro l’operatore è responsabile verso terzi di
eventuali danni causati dall’uso della macchina.
22)Lavorate solo durante le ore di buona luminosità o con una
illuminazione artificiale corrispondente.
23) Assicuratevi sempre che le aperture di ventilazione della mac-
china non siano ostruite da residui.
24)Non attraversate strade o sentieri ghiaiosi con la macchina in
moto.
25)Quando non la usate, riponete la macchina in un luogo asciutto
e lontano dalla portata dei bambini.
26)Dopo l’uso, scollegate la macchina dalla presa di corrente e
verificate che non vi siano guasti. In caso di dubbi contattate un
centro assistenza autorizzato.
27)Utilizzate la macchina solo nei modi descritti in queste istruzioni.
28)Verificate periodicamente il fissaggio delle viti (ove presenti).
29)Usate solo ricambi e accessori forniti o consigliati dal costruttore.
30) Non tentate di riparare la macchina o di accedere agli organi
interni. Rivolgetevi sempre presso i centri di assistenza autorizzati.
31) Non distraetevi e controllate sempre quello che state facendo.
Usate il buon senso. Non usate mai la macchina in condizioni di
stanchezza, malessere o sotto l’effetto di alcool o altre droghe.
NORME DI SICUREZZA ELETTRICHE
1) La tensione di alimentazione deve corrispondere a quella dichiarata
sulla targhetta dati tecnici. Non utilizzate altro tipo di alimentazione.
2) È obbligatorio l’uso di un apparecchio salvavita sulla linea di ali-
mentazione elettrica mediante un relé differenziale (RCD) con una
corrente di intervento di non più di 30 mA o con valore secondo le
normative vigenti nel Paese di utilizzo; consultate il vostro elettricista
di fiducia.
3) Non passate mai sopra il cavo di prolunga con la macchina, con
veicoli, potreste tagliarlo. Siate coscienti della sua posizione in
ogni momento.
4) Usate lo specifico fermacavo per il collegamento di prolunga.
5) Non usate la macchina in caso di pioggia. Evitate che venga
bagnata od esposta ad umidità. Non lasciatela all’aperto durante
la notte. Non tagliate erba umida o bagnata.
6) Impiegate soltanto cavo di prolunga omologato per l’uso all’aperto.
Tenetelo lontano dalla zona di taglio, da superfici umide, bagnate,
oliate, con bordi taglienti, da fonti di calore e da combustibili.
7) La presa e la spina del cavo di prolunga devono essere omolo-
gati per l’uso in esterno. Usare un cavo di prolunga armonizzato
almeno del tipo H05RN-F con sezione del cavo, tipo presa e spina
idonei alla potenza della macchina; consultate il vostro elettricista
di fiducia.
8) Prima di ogni utilizzo, controllate sempre che il cavo di prolunga
non sia danneggiato.
9) I bambini devono essere tenuti lontani dagli apparecchi collegati
alla rete elettrica.
10)Evitate il contatto del corpo con superfici messe a massa o a
terra.
11)Se il cavo di alimentazione o il cavo di prolunga si danneggiano
durante l’uso, scollegate immediatamente il cavo di prolunga
dalla rete di alimentazione elettrica. Non toccate i cavi prima
di aver sconnesso la macchina dalla rete di alimentazione
elettrica. Non utilizzate la macchina se i cavi sono danneggiati.
Se il cavo di alimentazione è danneggiato, deve essere sostituito
dal produttore, dal suo servizio assistenza o da personale quali-
ficato al fine di evitare un pericolo.
Questa macchina è costruita con sistema a doppio isolamento.
Il doppio isolamento offre maggiore sicurezza elettrica e non rende
necessaria la messa a terra della macchina.
MESSA IN SERVIZIO (FIG.C)
ATTENZIONE ! Prima di ogni controllo o manutenzione, staccate
la spina dalla presa di alimentazione.
ATTENZIONE! Durante questa operazione fate attenzione alla
lametta tagliafilo,potreste ferirvi.
La macchina può essere fornita con alcuni componenti smontati. Per
il loro montaggio seguite le seguenti istruzioni.
MONTAGGIO IMPUGNATURA CENTRALE (se smontata)
Inserire la maniglia nella scocca o nel tubo centrale, inserire la vite o
la barriera (se presente) e bloccare nella posizione desiderata tramite
il volantino o il dado di fissaggio (se presente).
NOTA: Nei decespugliatori verificare che la barriera (Fig.A, 19) sia
montata a sinistra del tubo
MONTAGGIO DELLA PROTEZIONE (se smontata)
ATTENZIONE! Nella protezione lato interno è fissata una lametta
che ha la funzione di tagliare il filo troppo lungo. Maneggiatela
con attenzione ed indossate i guanti protettivi.
ATTENZIONE! Prima di utilizzare la macchina, rimuovere la prote-
zione della lametta tagliafilo (se presente)
Tagliabordi:
Inserite la protezione sulla scocca inferiore posizionandolo le alette
di fissaggio negli appositi incastri. Se indicato in figura C, ruotare
la protezione per incastrarla nei fermi (senso di rotazione secondo
freccia in figura). Fissare con le apposite viti.
Decespugliatori:
1. Se la protezione (1) è fornita smontata (in più parti) è necessario
assemblarla e fissarla con le apposite viti.
2. Se la lametta tagliafilo (4) è fornita smontata, è necessario applicarla
alla protezione e fissarla con le viti.
3. Installare la protezione (1) sul supporto (2).
4. Fissare la protezione con le viti e i dadi in dotazione (3).
5. Rimuovere la copertura protettiva sul tagliente della lametta (se
presente).
MONTAGGIO ROTELLA GUIDATAGLIO (se presente)
Montate la rotella guidataglio sulla parte anteriore della protezione
facendo combaciare i fori di fissaggio come illustrato in Fig.C e
bloccatela con le apposite viti fornite assieme alla macchina.
MONTAGGIO DELL’ARCHETTO (se presente)
MONTAGGIO TUBO O SCOCCA (se smontati)
Tagliabordi
Inserire la scocca inferiore in quella superiore senza forzare per non
danneggiare i contatti elettrici. Infilare la vite o il pomello di bloccaggio
(6) e avvitare a fondo.
Decespugliatori
Premere il nottolino (7) e inserire il tubo inferiore in quello superiore
fino all’innesto del nottolino (7) nel foro desiderato. Avvitare a fondo
il pomello di bloccaggio (6).
NOTA: Ruotare a mano il rocchetto durante la fase di inserimento del
tubo per facilitare l’operazione.
AGGANCIO DELLA TRACOLLA (se presente)
Aprite il moschettone posto sulla tracolla (5) ed agganciatelo alla
macchina come indicato in figura.
REGOLAZIONI
- Tubo telescopico regolabile (se presente)
Il tubo telescopico consente di regolare l’apparecchio in base alla
propria altezza. Ruotare il manicotto di fissaggio (Fig.I, 2) sull’impu-
gnatura di circa 180° verso destra e tirare per variare la distanza tra
tubo e impugnatura. In questo modo è possibile allungare o accorciare
l’apparecchio.
- Testa motore orientabile (se presente)
L’apparecchio è dotato di una testa motore orientabile. Il braccio di
guida può essere ruotato di 180° e la lunghezza modificata.
É inoltre possibile variare l’angolo di inclinazione della testa motore

(Fig.I, 1). La possibilità di variare l’angolo di inclinazione consente di
tagliare erba anche in punti difficilmente accessibili (sotto panchine,
sporgenze...).
Per modificare l’angolo di inclinazione della testa, premere la leva o
il tasto presente sulla testa portamotore (Fig.I, 1a) e inclinare il tubo.
Per ruotare l’impugnatura, svitare il manicotto di fissaggio (Fig.I, 2c)
o tirare la ghiera (Fig.I, 2f se presente), ruotare il tubo di 180°(Fig.I,
2e) e riavvitare il manicotto. In questa posizione è possibile tagliare
in verticale ad esempio i bordi di un’aiuola (Fig.F, 3).
AVVIAMENTO E ARRESTO
1) Prima di ogni uso verificate l’integrità della macchina e la lunghezza
del filo di taglio seguendo le indicazioni di seguito riportate a seconda
del modello in vostro possesso (vedi foglio dati tecnici):
- Testa di taglio con rocchetto automatico: verificate che il filo di
taglio tocchi od oltrepassi il bordo della protezione. Se il filo di taglio
non raggiunge la lunghezza necessaria, premete il tasto con un dito
e contemporaneamente tirate il filo di nylon (fig. D). Per le regolazioni
successive durante l’uso della macchina, battete leggermente il tasto
del rocchetto sul terreno mantenendo la macchina in funzione (fig.
L). Otterrete così l’autoregolazione della lunghezza del filo di nylon.
- Testa di taglio con rocchetto full automatic: verificate che il filo
di taglio tocchi od oltrepassi il bordo della protezione. Se il filo di
taglio non raggiunge la lunghezza necessaria, avviate la macchina
(come descritto di seguito) per due-tre volte senza farla entrare in
contatto con l’erba da tagliare. Si effettuerà in tal modo la regolazione
automatica della lunghezza del filo.
2) Effettuate le eventuali regolazioni di lunghezza macchina e inclina-
zione testa di taglio (se presenti).
3) Collegate la spina della macchina alla presa del cavo prolunga
ed agganciate la stessa all’agganciocavo (Fig.E). Impugnate con
sicurezza la macchina e, senza farla entrare in contatto con l’erba
da tagliare, premete l’interruttore situato nell’impugnatura superiore;
se presente premete prima il pulsante di sicurezza (pos.15). Fate
funzionare a vuoto per alcuni istanti la macchina: effettuerete così
l’assestamento del filo di taglio.
4) Eseguite il lavoro di taglio erba.
5) Spegnete la macchina rilasciando l’interruttore di accensione.
ATTENZIONE! Alcune macchine sono dotate di un dispositivo per
la limitazione del rumore che avvia il motore con qualche attimo
di ritardo dopo l’azionamento dell’interruttore.
ATTENZIONE! Dopo lo spegnimento della macchina l’elemento di
taglio ruota ancora per alcuni secondi.
AVVERTENZE E CONSIGLI D’USO
ATTENZIONE! Non utilizzate la macchina senza protezione (se
fornita separata).
ATTENZIONE! Il filo corto od usurato dà un basso rendimento
di taglio quindi, a seconda del caso, seguite le istruzioni per la
regolazione della sua lunghezza come indicato nel capitolo “AV-
VIAMENTO E ARRESTO” o sostituitelo seguendo le indicazioni del
capitolo successivo.
Procedete con calma e seguite attentamente le indicazioni di seguito
riportante:
- prima di iniziare il lavoro assicuratevi che l’area da tagliare sia priva
di sassi, detriti, fili ed altri oggetti estranei.
- avviate la macchina prima di avvicinarvi all’erba da tagliare.
- tagliate l’erba facendo oscillare a destra e a sinistra la macchina ed
avanzate lentamente tenendola inclinata in avanti di circa 30° (Fig.F, 1).
- l’erba alta va tagliata a strati partendo sempre dall’alto (Fig.F, 2).
- non tagliate erba umida o bagnata.
- non lavorate in modo da sovraccaricare la macchina.
- non usurate rapidamente il filo urtando contro ostacoli rigidi (sas-
si, muri, staccionate ecc.) ma usate il bordo della protezione per
mantenere la macchina alla giusta distanza.
- Prestate attenzione al contraccolpo e alla reazione della lama nel
caso di urto contro ostacoli rigidi.
- Per non danneggiare il cavo di prolunga, evitate di passarci sopra
con la macchina in moto e mantenetelo sempre in posizione sicura
dietro alle vostre spalle.
SOSTITUZIONE DEL DISPOSITIVO DI TAGLIO (FIG.D)
ATTENZIONE! Per la sostituzione, utilizzate solamente parti
originali.
Prima di procedere osservate attentamente i componenti e la fig.D.
Se non avete dimestichezza con la manipolazione e l’assemblaggio
di componenti meccanici, vi consigliamo di rivolgervi ad un centro
assistenza autorizzato.
Indossate i guanti a protezione delle mani.
Tagliabordi
1) Togliete la presa di corrente dalla macchina.
2) Capovolgete la macchina con la protezione rivolta verso l’alto.
3) Sostituite il dispositivo di taglio come di seguito indicato:
- Testa di taglio con rocchetto automatico: Con una mano tenete
bloccato il porta-rocchetto e premete il tasto centrale (1), con l’altra
togliete la cuffia premendo sulle linguette laterali (2) oppure ruotan-
dola in senso antiorario. Togliete quindi il rocchetto vuoto e pulite
accuratamente l’interno del portarocchetto e della cuffia mantenendo
la molla nella sua posizione. Inserite il rocchetto nuovo nella cuffia
infilando le estremità dei fili negli appositi fori (3). Inserite l’insieme
rocchetto-cuffia nel portarocchetto e ruotatelo in senso orario fino
al bloccaggio (se necessario).Ripristinate la lunghezza del filo di
taglio ripetendo le operazioni descritte nel capitolo “AVVIAMENTO
E ARRESTO”.
- Testa di taglio con rocchetto full automatic: con una mano (o con
l’apposito utensile fig.A-(14) dove fornito) tenete bloccato il porta-
rocchetto (1) e con l’altra mano togliete la cuffia (2), ruotandola in
senso antiorario o agendo sulle linguette laterali. Togliete quindi il
rocchetto vuoto e pulite accuratamente l’interno del portarocchetto.
Inserite il nuovo insieme rocchetto-cuffia nel portarocchetto e rota-
telo in senso orario fino al bloccaggio (se necessario). Ripristinate
la lunghezza del filo di taglio ripetendo le operazioni descritte nel
capitolo “Avviamento e arresto”.
Decespugliatori
1) Togliete la presa di corrente dalla macchina.
2) Capovolgete la macchina con la protezione rivolta verso l’alto.
3) Sostituite il dispositivo di taglio come di seguito indicato:
- Rocchetto avvolgifilo: Con una mano tenete bloccato il porta-
rocchetto, con l’altra togliete la cuffia premendo sulle linguette laterali
(1) oppure ruotandola in senso antiorario. Togliete quindi il rocchetto
(2) vuoto e pulite accuratamente l’interno del portarocchetto e della
cuffia mantenendo la molla nella sua posizione. Inserite il rocchetto
nuovo nella cuffia infilando le estremità dei fili negli appositi fori o
fessure (3). Inserite l’insieme rocchetto-cuffia nel portarocchetto e
ruotatelo in senso orario fino al bloccaggio (se necessario). Ripri-
stinate la lunghezza del filo di taglio ripetendo le operazioni descritte
nel capitolo “AVVIAMENTO E ARRESTO”.
- Testa di taglio con rocchetto automatico: Per togliere la testa di
taglio (7), bloccate la rotazione dell’albero inserendo l’utensile (4)
nel foro (6). Svitate la testa di taglio nel senso di rotazione della
macchina. Per montare la testa di taglio (7), inserite se necessario
la flangia (5) sull’albero e avvitate a fondo la testa di taglio (7) nel
senso inverso al senso di rotazione della macchina. Ripristinate
la lunghezza del filo di taglio ripetendo le operazioni descritte nel
capitolo ‘AVVIAMENTO E ARRESTO’.
ATTENZIONE! Non improvvisate altri sistemi di taglio, recuperando
gli originali usurati. Utilizzate esclusivamente ricambi originali.
L’uso di filo con caratteristiche diverse dall’originale può causare
danni irreparabili alla macchina e fa decadere immediatamente
i termini della garanzia.
MANUTENZIONE
ATTENZIONE! Prima di ogni controllo o manutenzione, scollegate
la macchina dalla alimentazione elettrica.
ATTENZIONE! La lametta tagliafilo (se presente) può causare tagli
profondi.
- Pulite regolarmente ed abbiate cura della vostra macchina, vi ga-
rantirete una perfetta efficienza ed una lunga durata della stessa.
- Dopo ogni taglio, pulite da erba e terra il dispositivo di taglio e la
protezione. Se utilizzate il rocchetto manuale professionale, svitate
completamente il pomolo e togliete il rocchetto per avere così
accesso alla zona da pulire.

- Durante l’uso tenete pulite e sgombre dall’erba le feritoie di ventila-
zione del motore.
- Pulite la macchina con una spazzola morbida o un panno.
- Non spruzzate o bagnate d’acqua l’apparecchio.
- Non usate detergenti o solventi vari, potreste rovinare irrimediabil-
mente la macchina. Le parti in plastica sono facilmente aggredibili
da agenti chimici.
- Se la lametta tagliafilo si rompe, rivolgetevi ad un centro di assistenza
autorizzato.
RICERCA GUASTI
Se la macchina vibra:
- scollegate la macchina dalla rete di alimentazione
- smontate il rocchetto (se sostituibile)
- pulite con cura la sede del rocchetto togliendo eventuali residui
d’erba o altro. Se una volta rimontato il tutto la vibrazione persiste,
sostituite il rocchetto con uno nuovo.
Se la macchina non si avvia:
- controllate gli allacciamenti elettrici
- controllate la prolunga o cambiate presa di alimentazione
- controllate l’interruttore generale della casa
Se il taglio è insoddisfacente o le prestazioni della macchina
diminuiscono:
- regolate la lunghezza dell’elemento di taglio.
ATTENZIONE! Se dopo aver eseguito gli interventi sopra descritti
la macchina non funziona ancora correttamente o in caso di ano-
malie diverse da quelle sopra indicate, portatela presso un centro
di assistenza autorizzato. Fate riferimento al modello macchina

foglio allegato.
IMMAGAZZINAMENTO
- Dopo ogni utilizzo effettuate una accurata pulizia di tutta la macchina

ELECTRICAL SAFETY REGULATIONS
1) The power supply voltage must correspond to that indicated on the
technical data plate. Do not use any other type of power supply.
2) Must be used a trip switch on the power supply line, by means of
a differential relay (RCD) with a tripping current of no more than 30
mA or in keeping with the standards currently in force in the country
in which the machine is used. Contact your local electrician.
3) Do not run over the extension cable with the machine or with
vehicles, as you could cut it. Be aware of its position at all times.
4) Use the special cable clip to connect the extension cable.
5) Do not use the machine in the rain. Do not let it get wet or leave it
exposed to damp. Do not leave it outdoors overnight. Do not cut
damp or wet grass.
6) Only use an extension cable approved for outdoor use. Keep it away
from the cutting area, from damp, wet, greasy and sharp surfaces
and also from sources of heat and combustibles.
7) The socket and plug the extension cord must be approved for
outdoor use. Use a matched extension cable at least of the type
H05RN- F with cable section, plug and socket type suitable for the
power of the machine. Contact your local electrician.
8) Before use, always make sure that the extension cable is not
damaged.
9) Keep children away from the apparatus connected to the power
supply.
10) Avoid body contact with earthed surfaces.
11) If the power cable or extension cable is damaged during use,
disconnect the extension cable from the power supply immediately.
Do not touch the cables before disconnecting the machine from the
power supply. Do not use the machine if the cables are damaged.
If the power cord is damaged it must be replaced by the manufactu-
rer, its service agent or qualified personnel in order to avoid a hazard.
This machine is manufactured with a double insulation system.
Double insulation offers additional electrical safety and means that
there is no need to earth the machine.
STARTING UP (FIG.C)
WARNING! Before carrying out any checks or maintenance opera-
tions, disconnect the plug from the electric power supply.
WARNING! During this operation take care of the wire cutter, as you
could be injured.
The machine may be supplied with some loose components. For their
assembly, observe the following instructions.
16 The machine is equipped with a device for the limitation of noise
that starts the motor with a moment of delay after the actuation
of the switch.
GENERAL SAFETY REGULATIONS
PLASTIC BAGS ARE NOT TOYS
WARNING! Risk of suffocation. Plastic bags can cause suffocation,
if included in the package stuck on the head and must be kept away
from children, if not more reusable must be cut and disposed of
in the trash.
1) This unit can not be used by children or persons with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge. Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning
and maintenance must not be carried out by children.
2) Always check the efficiency and integrity of the machine; if it is
not in good operating condition, the machine can pose a hazard
to those operating it.
3) Before using the machine and after any knocks, check the machine
for visible signs of external wear and damage. If necessary, take it
to an authorised service centre in order to carry out any necessary
repairs.
4) Do not use the machine if the safety devices are damaged or
missing, or if the cutting device is not properly inserted, fixed or is
damaged. Check its condition before operating the machine.
5) Before switching the machine on, make sure the cutting element
is not in contact with any stones, debris or foreign bodies.

Always operate with adequate clothing in order to avoid any injury to
the face, eyes, hands, feet, head and to hearing: always use protective
eyewear or goggles, safety boots, and strong trousers, non-slip work
gloves, safety hats and hearing protection.
7) When switching on the motor and when the machine is in use, keep
the cutting element away from any parts of the body, especially
hands and feet.

Do not switch on the machine when it is upside down or not in an
operating position
.
9) Switch the motor off and disconnect the machine from the power
supply: when out of use, when left unattended, during cleaning
operations, when being transported from one place to another,
when the power cable or extension is damaged, when removing
or changing the cutting device or when manually measuring the
length of the cutting thread.
10) Do not pull the machine along by its power cable. Always used
the hand grip.
11) Keep the machine away from people, children, pets; switch it off
when they are nearby; and in particular, maintain a safety distance
as indicated in point 9 of the description of marks and signs: cut
grass thrown up can contain stones and debris that are dangerous.
12) When working maintain a stable and safe position.
13) Always keep the area to be cut free from wires, stones and debris.
14) During operation, do not cut against hard objects to prevent
damage to the machine and injury to the operator.
15) Never use the machine without the safety devices (if provided se-
parately). Never use the machine if the safety devices are damaged.
WARNING! The safety devices are essential for your safety and
the safety of others and for the correct operation of the machine.
Failure to observe this regulation, besides creating a potential
danger, will cause the warranty to be annulled.
16) Take care of the wire cutter (if provided); it may cause deep cuts.
17) Do not attempt to stop the cutting device (cutting wire) with your
hands. Always let it come to a stop on its own.
WARNING! After the machine has been switched off, the cutting
element continues to rotate for a few seconds.
18) Do not use a different cutting wire from the original. Never use
metal wire instead of plastic wire.
19) Do not use the machine to cut grass that is not in contact with the
soil; for example do not cut grass that is on walls or stones, etc…
20) Do not start the machine in indoor or poorly ventilated areas or in
the presence of inflammable or explosive liquids, gases, powders

CENTRAL HAND GRIP ASSEMBLY (if removed)
Insert the handle into the body or in the central tube, insert the screw or
the barrier (if any) and lock in the desired position using the hand wheel
or the fastening nut (if any).
NOTE: In brushcutters verify that the barrier (Fig, 19) is mounted on the
left pipe
FITTING THE SAFETY DEVICES (if removed)
WARNING! In the protection inner side is fixed a razor blade which
has the function to cut the thread too long. Treat it with care and
wear protective gloves.
WARNING! Before using the machine, remove the protection of
the string cutter blade (if fitted)
Trimmer:
Place the guard on the bottom shell, positioning the fixing wings in
the appropriate joints. If indicated in figure C, turn the protection to
frame retainers (direction of rotation according to the arrow in the
figure). Secure with the screws.
Brushcutter:
1. If the guard (1) is supplied disassembled (in several parts) you
must assemble it and secure it with screws.
2. If the razor blade (4) is supplied disassembled, it is necessary to
apply it to the protection and secure it with screws.
3. Install the guard (1) on the support (2).
4. Attach the guard with screws and nuts (3).
5. Remove the protective cover on the cutting edge of the blade (if
fitted).
CUT-GUIDE WHEEL ASSEMBLY (where fitted)
Assemble the cut-wire wheel on the front part of the safety devices
aligning the fixing holes as shown in Fig. C and lock it with the special
screws provided with the machine.
BOW ASSEMBLY (where fitted)
BODY OR TUBE ASSEMBLY (if separated)
Trimmer
Insert the bottom shell in the upper one without straining to avoid
damaging the electrical contacts. Insert the screw or lock the knob
(6) and tighten.
BrushCutter
Press the pawl (7) and the lower tube in the top one until you feel the
pawl (7) into the hole desired. Tighten the locking knob (6).
NOTE: manually rotating the spool during the phase of insertion of
the tube to facilitate the operation.
SHOULDER STRAP (where fitted)
Open the carabiner place on the shoulder strap (5) and hook it to the
machine as shown in figure.
ADJUSTMENTS
- Adjustable telescopic pipe (where fitted)
The telescopic pipe allows the adjustment of the tool according to
height. Rotate the fixing sleeve on the grip by about 180° to the right
(Fig. I, 2) and pull to adjust the distance between the pipe and the
grip. In this way it is possible to lengthen and shorten the tool.
- Adjustable motor head (where fitted)
The tool is equipped with an adjustable motor head. The guide arm
can be rotated by 180° and its length can be adjusted.
It is possible to vary the angle of inclination of the motor head (Fig.
I, 1). This possibility allows grass to be trimmed even in places that
are difficult to access (such as under a bench, an overhang…).
In order to vary the angle of inclination of the head, press the lever
or the button on the motor-holder head (Fig. I, 1a) and tilt the pipe.
In order to rotate the hand grip, unscrew the fixing sleeve (Fig.I, 2c)
or pull the ring (Fig. I, 2f if any), rotate the pipe by 180° (Fig.I, 2e) and
screw the sleeve again. In this position it is possible to cut vertically,
for example the flower bed edges (Fig. F3).
STARTING AND STOPPING
1) Before use, always check that the machine is in good working order,
check the length of the trimmer line and follow the instructions on your
model, which are set out below (see technical specifications sheet):
- Cutting head with automatic spool unit: check that the nylon line
touches or goes beyond the edge of the guard. If the nylon line
does not reach the required length, press the button with one finger
and at the same time pull on the line (fig. D).
For subsequent adjustments when the machine is in use, gently
tap the spool button against the ground whilst continuing to run
the machine(fig. L). The length of the nylon line will thus be auto-
matically adjusted.
- Cutting head with ‘Full-Automatic’ spool: make sure that the
cutting line touches or extends beyond the edge of the guard. If the
cutting line does not reach the required length, start the machine
(as described below) two or three times without cutting the grass:
this will automatically adjust the length of the line.
2) Adjust the length of the machine and the cutting head inclination,
if necessary.
3) Connect the machine plug to the socket of the extension cable and
hook it to the cable hook (Fig.E). Safely grasp the machine and,
without putting it in contact with the grass to be trimmed, press
the switch situated on the upper hand grip; if present, first press
the safety button (pos. 15). Operate the machine idle for a short
while, so as to set the cutting wire.
4) Carry out the work.
5) Turn off the machine releasing the ignition switch.
WARNING! Some machines are equipped with a device for the
limitation of noise that starts the motor with a moment of delay
after the actuation of the switch.
WARNING! After the machine switches off, the cutting element
continues to rotate for a few seconds.
WARNINGS AND ADVICE
WARNING! Do use the machine without protection (if provided
separately).
WARNING! A short or worn cutting wire means a lower cutting
performance so, depending on the situation, follow the instructions
for regulating its length as indicated in the chapter “STARTING
AND STOPPING” or replace it following the instructions given in
the next chapter.
Proceed calmly and carefully follow the instructions below:
- Before beginning work make sure that the area to be cut is free of
stones, debris, wires and other foreign bodies.
- Start the machine before approaching the grass to be cut.
- Cut grass making sure you swing the machine from right to left and
proceed slowly holding it at on a forwards slope of approximately
30% (Fig. F, 1).
- The grass is to be cut in layers starting from the top (Fig. F, 2).
- Do not cut damp or wet grass.
- Do not work so that the machine is overloaded.
- Do not wear the wire by hitting against hard objects (stones, walls,
fences etc.) but use the edge of the protection to keep the machine
at the correct distance.
- Be aware of the blade recoil and the reaction of the blade in case it
should hit against hard objects.
- So as not to damage the extension cable, avoid stepping on it with
the machine switched on and always keep it in a safe position behind
your back.
CUTTING DEVICE REPLACEMENT (Fig. D)
WARNING! Only use original spare parts for replacement.
Before proceeding, please observe the components and fig.D.
If you are not familiar with handling and assembly of mechanical
components, we recommend that you contact an authorized service
center.
Wear gloves to protect hands.

Trimmer
1) Disconnect the machine from the mains supply.
2) Turn the machine upside down with the guard facing upwards.
3) Replace the trimming device in the following manner:
- Cutting head with automatic spool unit: With one hand, hold the
spool pin locked and press the center button (1), with the other
remove the headset by pressing on the side tabs (2) or by turning
it counterclockwise. Then remove the empty spool and thoroughly
clean the interior of the spool and the cuff retaining the spring in its
position. Place the spool back into the cap by inserting the ends of
the wires into the holes (3). Insert the spool with the spool-cap and
turn it clockwise until it locks (if necessary). Restore the line length
by repeating the operations described in the chapter ‘STARTING
AND STOPPING THE MACHINE’.
- Cutting head with ‘Full-Automatic’ spool: grasp the spool holder
(1) tight with one hand (or with the special tool fig. A-(14) if sup-
plied), and with the other hand remove the cowling (2), rotating it
counter-clockwise or by acting on the side tabs. Then remove the
empty spool and clean the inside of the spool holder thoroughly.
Insert the new spool/cowling set in the spool holder and rotate it
clockwise until it is securely fastened (if necessary). Adjust the
length of the cutting line, repeating the operations described in the
“Start and Stop” chapter.
Brushcutter
1) Remove the plug from the machine.
2) Turn the machine with cap facing upwards.
3) Replace the cutting unit as follows:
- Spool winders: With one hand you hold the locked spool pin, with
the other remove the headset by pressing on the side tabs (1)
or by turning it counterclockwise. Then remove the spool (2) is
empty and thoroughly clean the inside of the spool and headphone
maintaining the spring in place. Place new spool into the headset
inserting the wire ends into the holes or slots (3). Place the whole
reel-in spool cap and turn it clockwise until it locks (if necessary).
Reset the length of the cutting edge by repeating the steps described
in chapter “STARTING AND STOPPING”.
- Cutting head with spool automatic: To remove the cutting head
(7), lock the rotation of the shaft by inserting the tool (4) into the
hole (6). Unscrew the cutting head in the direction of rotation of
the machine. To mount the cutting head (7), inserted if necessary
the flange (5) on the shaft and screwed to the bottom of the cutting
head (7) in the direction opposite to the direction of rotation of the
machine. Reset the length of the cutting edge by repeating the steps
described in chapter ‘START AND STOP’.
WARNING! Do not use makeshift trimming systems by re-using
worn originals. Use only approved replacements. The use of line
with different characteristics to those of the original can perma-
nently damage the machine as well as annulling the terms of the
guarantee.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING! Before checking or carrying out maintenance on the
machine, disconnect it from the power supply.
WARNING! The wire cutter (where fitted) may cause deep cuts.
- Clean and maintain your machine regularly, to ensure that it remains
perfectly efficient and has a long working life.
- After every cutting process, clean the cutting device and protection
so that they are free from grass and earth. If you are using a pro-
fessional manual spool, unscrew the knob completely and remove
the spool to access the area to be cleaned.
- During use, keep motor ventilation grids clean and free from grass.
- Clean the machine with a soft brush or cloth.
- Do not wet or spray water over the tool.
- Do not use any detergents or solvents as these may damage the
machine beyond repair. Chemical agents can easily damage the
plastic parts.
- If the wire cutter breaks, contact an authorised service centre.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If the machine vibrates:
- disconnect the machine from the power supply
- disassemble the spool (if replaceable)
- carefully clean the spool housing removing any possible residual of
grass or other residue. If after reassembling everything the vibration
persists, replace the spool with a new one.
If the machine fails to start:
- check the electrical connections
- check the extension cable or change the power supply socket
- check the mains switch in your home
If the cut is unsatisfactory or the machine performances decrease:
- adjust the length of the cutting element.
WARNING! If the machine still fails to function correctly after you
have carried out the above operations, or in the event of anoma-
lies other than those described above, take the machine to an
authorised service centre. Provide the machine model and serial
number shown on the technical data label and the enclosed sheet.
STORAGE
- After use, clean the entire machine and its accessories carefully (see
maintenance paragraph), thus preventing any mould from forming.
- Keep the machine out of reach of children, in a stable safe position, in
a dry place not subject to extreme temperatures and free from dust.
- Protect the machine from direct sunlight, keeping it in the dark where
possible, or in the shade.
- Do not close the machine in plastic bags as damp could form.
- Once the mowing season is over, the machine should be cleaned
thoroughly and you should ensure that all its components are in
good working order.
- Do not leave the machine resting on the ground, but hang it so that
the protection does not touch anything. If the protection rests on
a surface, it could get deformed and modify its dimensional and
safety characteristics.
DEMOLITION
Electric and electronic waste may contain potentially hazardous sub-
stances for the environment and human health. It should therefore not
be disposed of with domestic waste, but by means of differentiated
collection at specific centres or returned to the vendor in the event of
purchasing new equipment of the same type. The illegal disposal of

The product is protected by law against non-compliance with the de-
clared characteristics provided it is used only in the manner described
in the instructions, it has not been tampered with in any way, it has

In the case of industrial or professional use or when using such a
guarantee is valid for 12 months.
To issue a claim under warranty you must present proof of purchase
to your dealer or authorized service center.
