DESCRIZIONE:
9882R - RUST CLEANER
rimuove
selettivamente anche gli strati più consistenti di
ruggine su acciaio, ferro, ghisa e cromature.
Anche rivestimenti superficiali quali bruniture,
parkerizzazioni, fosfato di zinco verranno rimossi in
circa 30 minuti.
9882R - RUST CLEANER
è l'ideale per la rimozione
della ruggine perché:
a. rispetto ai tradizionali decapanti a base
acida o basica, salvaguarda il metallo non
ossidato. Grazie alla propria azione chelante
selettiva, senza richiedere né la sorveglianza
periodica, evita che vada a corrodere anche il
metallo non ossidato sottostante la patina di
ruggine e la neutralizzazi one dell'acido post-
decapaggio, in particolare in caso di patina di
ruggine non estesa uniformemente sull'intera
superficie del metallo, con conseguente
corrosione delle parti metalliche non ossidate a
contatto con l'acido non appena immerso in vasca
l’oggetto da trattare.
b. rispetto ai convertitori evita il pericolo che lo
strato di conversione non riesca ad estendersi
all'intero spessore ossidato, cioè che rimanga uno
strato di ruggine residuale compreso tra lo strato
di conversione superficial e ed il metallo non
ossidato sottostante.
c. rispetto s ia ai decapanti a base acida o
basica, sia ai convertitori minimizza
l’infragilimento strutturale del metallo causato
dalla introduzione accidentale di idrogeno nel
reticolo cristallino (
infragilimento da idrogeno
)
durante il trattamento.
AZIONE SELETTIVA: l'agente chelante selettivo contenuto nella formula c himica del
preparato rimuove esclusivamente (selettivamente) lo strato ossidato (ruggine), senza
asportare e/o danneggiare il subs trato metallico non ossidato.

grazie alla formula a base acqua minimizza l’indebolimento strutturale del metallo

infragilimento da idrogeno
) contro vibrazioni, risonanze, etc.
INIBITORE DELL’OSSIDAZIONE: dopo il trattamento, il pezzo dovrà essere sottoposto a
risciacquo con acqua prima di qualsiasi ulteriore trattamento (es.: fosfatazione, verniciatura,
cromatura, protezione anticorrosiva, rifornimento carburante, etc.).
Altrimenti, in assenza della fase finale di risciacquo con acqua,

evaporando lascerà sulla superficie del pezzo un sottile film protettivo capace di inibire
l'ossidazione a breve termine fino a 2 settimane al massimo (solo per stoccaggio indoor), in
funzione prevalentemente sia dell'umidità ambientale presente, sia della scabrosità superficiale
del metallo.
BASE-ACQUA (PH = 6.1): non è corrosivo e non danneggia ottone, rame, alluminio, oro,
piombo, titanio, acciaio, ghisa, cromo, saldature, vinile, plastica, neoprene, silicone, vetro,
sughero o legno. Uniche incompatibilità sono cadmio e relative leghe (es.: vernici,
stabilizzanti, cadmiatura, etc.) e magnesio e relative leghe (es.: zama). L'acciaio ad alto
tenore di carbonio diventa scuro a contatto con

; il carbonio potrà
essere parzialmente rimosso in fase di risciacquo con acqua strofinando, ad esempio, con un
panno.
Si raccomanda di immergere completamente l’oggetto metallico d a decapare perché, in
caso di immersione solo parziale, alcuni pezz i possono presentare una linea scura in
corrispondenza dell’interfaccia aria/liquido.
DILUIZIONE: il grado di saturazione del principio attivo contenuto nella formula, a cui
corrisponde il quantitativo di ruggine complessivamente rimovibile (cioè il consum o), rimane
esattamente identico, indipendentemente dal grado di diluizione effettivamente adottato, pari
ad un massimo di 60 gr. di ruggine anidra per litro di

La velocità di reazione per rimuovere l’ossido aumenta proporzionalmente al grado di
diluizione con acqua, quindi la tempistica massima pari a 24/48 ore del pronto -uso non sarà
più indicativa e sarà compito dell’utilizzatore valutare quando il decapaggio s arà
effettivamente terminato; a tal fine, per evitare l’eccessivo rallentamento della reazione
chimica, si raccomanda di non diluire oltre il rapporto 1:1 (es.: 1 Lt. 9882R - RUST
CLEANER + 1 Lt. acqua).
TEMPERATURA MINIM A DI UTILIZZO : poiché la reazione chimica che determina la
rimozione selettiva della ruggine è endotermica, cioè assorbe energia (calore) dall’ambiente
esterno, è raccomandabile utilizzare

ad una temperatura della
soluzione superiore a 15°C. A temperature inferiori ai 5°C la reazione chimica risulta
fortemente ritardata.
Nell’intervallo compreso tra 15°C e 20°C la reazione risulta relativamente veloce; mentre l a
massima velocità si registra nell’intervallo compreso tra 35°C e 50°C.
AZIONE DECAP ANTE: È necessario garantire la sufficiente tempisti ca di contatto con il
metallo e

solubilizzerà tutta la ruggine presente, fermandosi
esattamente ed automaticamente all’interfaccia con il substrato metallo non oss idato.
A differenza degli acidi non asporterà metallo non ossidato allo spessore della lamiera,
garantendo, inoltre, la compatibilità con guarnizioni (es.: rubinetto benzina) o parti metalliche
non ferrose (es.: cromature) eventualmente a contatto.
COME FUNZIONA:
STEP 1: azione chelante selettiva sull’ossido da rimuovere rispetto al substrato metallico non

STEP 2: l’agente chelante selettivo cede l’ossido rimosso, con produzione di un complesso
solfato ferrico.
STEP 3 : una volta ceduto l'ossido rimosso, lo stesso agente chelante selettivo ricomincia un
nuovo ciclo di decapaggio fino al raggiungimento del substrato non ossidato che, per essere
asportato, richiederebbe un'energia chelante superiore a quella effettivamente disponibile.
9882R - RUST CLEANER
lavora ad un pH compreso tra 6.1 e 7 (neutro) mediante azione
chelante selettiva: questa è una reazione chimica dove una grande molecola sintetica forma
un legame con il metallo e lo mantiene in soluzione.
La maggior parte degli agenti chelanti lega differenti tipo logie di metallo; il principio attivo
nella formula di
9882R - RUST CLEANER
si lega esclusivamente con il ferro.
Può rimuovere il ferro dall'ossido di ferro, ma è troppo debole per rimuovere il ferro dall'acciaio
o dalla ghisa perché il ferro è legato al s ubstrato molto più tenacemente.
Una molecola organica i n grado di cedere facilmente l o zolfo formando un complesso solfato
ferri co è stato aggiunto alla formula per far rilasciare il ferro dall'agente chel ante selettivo.
Ques to permette all'agente chel ante selettivo di rimuovere una maggiore quantità di ferro
dall'ossido.
INCOMPATIBILITÀ CON ALTRI MATERIALI: le incompatibilità (macchie irreversibili sul
metallo) fino ad ora accertate sono 2:
1. magnesio e relative leghe (es. copri -carter, zama (carburatori, pompe iniezione, etc.))
2. cadmio e relative leghe (es.: cadmiature (“tropicalizzazioni”); vernici al cadmio, etc.)
L'acciaio al carbonio, una volta trattato con
9882R - RUST CLEANER
, subirà un certo grado
di inscurimento della superficie.
Parte del carbonio responsabile dell'inscurimento superficiale può essere rimosso
semplicemente strofinando con uno straccio.
L'inscurimento è determinato dal carbonio presente nella lega dell'acciaio. Tale fenomeno
naturale è noto in chimica come migrazione de l carbonio.
Il carbonio si sposta (o migra), verso gli strati esterni superficiali del metallo e si deposita nei
pori.
La rimozione della ruggine (ossido di ferro idrato) riduce la proporzione ferro Vs. carbonio,
lasc iando una maggiore concentrazione di carbonio sulla superficie esterna, con conseguente
inevitabile inscurimento del metallo.
Tale inscurimento non crea effet ti avversi sul metallo: rappresenta semplicemente il processo
di migrazione del carbonio dall'i nterno all'esterno del metallo.

(Fe3+O(O H)), Lepidocrocite (γ -Fe3+O(O H)) e parkerizzazioni (entrambi i tipi: manga nese &
zinc o)).
Diversamente, Ematite (Fe2O3) e Goethite (α-Fe3+O(O H)) non sono intaccati da
9882R -
RUST CLEANER
).
Anche le anodizzazioni non verranno rimosse.
Nemmeno vernici e pitture verranno rimosse, a meno che non siano a base di ossidi
(solitamente comprese nelle tonalità giallo, arancione e rosso).
Non si verificherà alcuno stress negativo nel metallo dopo il trattamento con
9882R - RUST
CLEANER
; l’unica variazione negativa sarà eventualmente dovuta all’attacco della ruggine
causato prima del decap aggio. In caso di inspessimenti locali della patina di ruggine su ghisa,
acciaio al carbonio e cromature, al termine del decapaggio rimarrà localmente il vuoto per
ammanco di materiale (“camolatura”).
STOCCAGGIO: Grazie della bassissima concentrazione di Composti Organici Volatili (COV)
e della propria capacità chelante selettiva inalterabile per molto tempo, si presta facilmente
al riutilizzo.
9882R - RUST CLEANER
ha una durata:
illimitata qualora non utilizzato e conservato entro la sua confezione origin aria
limitata dopo il 10° utilizzo, di durata variabile in funzione del tasso di biodegradabilità
specifico determinato dai batteri presenti sul metallo oggetto di trattamento che
vengono a contatto con
9882R - RUST CLEANER.
Dopo il 10° utilizzo è raccomandabile coprire non ermeticamente la vasca o il contenitore
destinato allo stoccaggio di
9882R - RUST CLEANER
, al fine di limitare sia l’evaporazione
della frazione acquosa, sia la proliferazione dei batteri anaerobici.
Applicazioni pratiche hanno dimostrato una durata media pari a 12 mesi di
9882R - RUST
CLEANER
dopo il 10° utilizzo (e in certi casi anche ben oltre tale limite).
L’acqua contenuta nella formulazione del
9882R - RUST CLEANER
è l’unica componente che
può evaporare; se l’aliquota di acqua persa per evaporazione viene ripristinata, la soluzione
di
9882R - RUST CLEANER
risulterà rivitalizzata.
SMALTIMENTO:
9882R - RUST CLEANER
andrà utilizzato ad oltranza fintanto che risulterà
efficace nella rimozione dell’ossido; dopodiché diventerà esausto e andrà smaltito.
In caso di necessità di smaltimento antecedentemente al primo utilizzo,
9882R - RUST
CLEANER
costituisce un rifiuto speciale non pericoloso; dopo il primo utilizzo, il substrato
organico e/o inorganico rimosso può alterare significativamente la composizione chimico -fisica
della soluzione distaccante; in ogni caso, si raccomanda di smaltire il pro dotto, esausto o
meno, nonché, se necessario, anche la soluzione acquosa di lavaggio, presso impianto di

vigenti.

PULIZIA PRELIMINARE: rimozione dell’eventuale strato organico e/o inorganico
superficiale di copertura della patina di ruggine con idoneo detergente/sgrassante e/o
disincrostante.
IMMERSIONE: immergere in vasca l’oggetto metallico da decapare per almeno 30 minuti in
caso di patina sottile; fino a 24/48 ore per le patine di ruggine più consistenti .
Se
9882R - RUST CLEANER
viene diluito con acqua, la predetta tempistica non è più indicativa
perché aumenta progressivamente in funzione del grado di diluizione effettivamente adottato.
Per evitare l’eccessivo rallentamento della reazione chimica, si raccomanda di non diluire oltre
il rapporto 1:1 (es.: 1 Lt.
9882R - RUST CLEANER
+ 1 Lt. acqua).
Anche se diluito, il consumo rimane invariato: 1 Lt. di
9882R - RUST CLEANER
rimuove fino
a 60 gr. di ruggine anidra.
Si raccomanda di immergere completamente l’oggetto metallico da decapare perché, in
caso di immersione solo parziale, alcuni pezzi possono presentare una linea scura in
corrispondenza dell’interfaccia aria/liquido.
N.B.: solo in caso di inspessimenti locali di ruggine è indispensabile che l’oggetto metallico
da decapare venga periodicamente (ogni 6/12 ore) sciacquato con acqua e/o spazzolato in
corrispondenza delle zone arrugginite: infatti, essendo la struttura della ruggine
intrinsecamente porosa, possono prodursi frammenti di metallo solo parzialmente arrugginiti
esternamente (e come tali non completamente solubilizzati grazie all’azione chelante selettiva
propria di
9882R - RUST CLEANER
) che, sebbene già staccati dal s ubstrato sottostante ancora
arrugginito, possono rimanere intrappolati nelle asperità dello stesso; s e lasci ati i n posto, i
punti di contatto tra questi frammenti metallici non più arrugginiti e il substrato metallico
ancora arrugginito non permettono l’accesso del liquido e quindi il trattamento.
POST-TRATTAMENTO: prima di qualsiasi ulteriore trattamento (es.: fosfatazione,
verniciatura, cromatura, protezione anticorrosiva, rifornimento carburante, etc.), il pezzo dovrà

2. RIEMPIMENTO
PULIZIA PRELIMINARE: rimozione dell’eventuale strato organico e/o inorganico
superficiale di copertura della patina di ruggine con idoneo detergente/sgrassante e/o
disincrostante.
RIEMPIMENTO: in funzione della tipologia dell’oggetto da trattare, possono differenziarsi 2
casi alternativi:
a. oggetto completamente ispezionabile all’interno (es.: filetto cieco, etc.): vedi
metodo precedente;
b. oggetto non completamente ispezionabile all’interno (es.: serbatoio, etc.): la
procedura operativa consigliata è la seguente:
1. collocare il pezzo all’interno di una vasca di raccolta di capacità superiore al
volume di

utilizzato per il trattamento, al fine di
garantire la raccolta dell'eventuale percolato fuoriuscito in caso di ruggine
passante e/o fuoriuscita accidentale
2. dopo aver chiuso e verificato la tenuta di tutte le aperture del pezzo, versare
9882R - RUST CLEANER
direttamente all’interno. In presenza di inspessimenti
di ossido, periodicamente occorrerà agitare energicamente l’intero serbatoio
contenente all’interno
9882R - RUST CLEANER
. Essendo la struttura della
ruggine intrinsecamente porosa, possono prodursi frammenti di metallo solo
parzialmente arrugginiti esternamente (e come tali non completamente
solubilizzati grazie all’azione chelante selettiva propria di

) che, sebbene già staccati dal substrato sottostante ancora
arrugginito, possono rimanere intrappolati nelle asperità dello stesso; se
lasc iati i n posto, i punti di contatto tra questi frammenti metallici non più
arrugginiti e il substrato metallico ancora arrugginito non permettono l’accesso
del liquido e quindi il trattamento.
3. una volta rimossa completamente la ruggine all'interno del pezzo:
svuotare completamente il pezzo e risciacquare bene con acqua

risciacquare bene con alcool denaturato
POST-TRATTAMENTO: prima di qualsiasi ulteriore trattamento (es.: fosfatazione,
verniciatura, cromatura, protezione anticorrosiva, rifornimento carburante, etc.), il pezzo dovrà
essere sottoposto prima a risciacquo con acqua e, subito dopo, ad accurata asci ugatura per
prevenire la ricomparsa dell’ossidazione.

3. ULTRASUONI
Accelera notevolmente la velocità di decapaggio grazie alla tecnologia ad ultrasuoni
comunemente utilizzata nelle applicazioni industriali; inoltre, in caso di patina di ruggine
consistente, non richiede la fase intermedia di risciacquo o spazzolatura sopraddetta.
PULIZIA PRELIMINARE: rimozione dell’eventuale strato organico e/o inorganico
superficiale di copertura della patina di ruggine con idoneo detergente/sgrassante e/o
disincrostante.
LAVAGGIO: riempire la lavatrice ad ultrasuoni con una quantità sufficiente di

CLEANER
per raggiungere il livello indicato dal costruttore; immergere il pezzo da trattare ed
avviare il programma di lavaggio.
La durata dell’applicazione dipenderà dallo spessore della ruggine da rimuovere: per patine
sottili impiega circa 1 minuto, mentre per le patine più consistenti circa 1 ora.
È la modalità di applicazione più veloce per rimuovere la ruggine.

4. SPRUZZO
PULIZIA PRELIMINARE: rimozione dell’eventuale strato organico e/o inorganico
superficiale di copertura della patina di ruggine con idoneo detergente/sgrassante e/o
disincrostante.
SPRUZZO: predisporre una vasca di raccolta del percolato contenente una pompa sommersa
o autoadescante di ricircolo collegata con uno spruzzat ore.
Riempire la vasca con una quantità sufficiente di
9882R - RUST CLEANER
per garantire sia il
pescaggio della pompa, sia il riempimento della tubazione di mandata.
Si consiglia di limitare la portata di ricircolo per minimizzare la produzione di schiuma .
Spruzzare

direttamente sulla superficie arrugginita garantendo un
tempo di contatto

contro la ruggine pari ad almeno 30 minuti in caso
di patina s ottile; fino a 24/48 ore per le patine di ruggine più consistenti .
N.B.: solo in caso di inspessi menti locali di ruggine è indispensabile che l'oggetto metallico
da decapare venga periodicamente (ogni 6/12 ore) sciacquato con acqua e/o spazzolato in
corrispondenza delle zone arrugginite: infatti, essendo la struttura della ruggine
intrinsecamente porosa, possono prodursi frammenti di metallo solo parzialmente arrug giniti
esternamente (e come tali non completamente solubilizzati grazie all'azione chelante selettiva

CLEANER a t a b a th t empe rature a b o v e 15 ° C , as t h e c h e m i s t r y is endothermic s o it requires
some ambient heat to work. I n temperatures below 5°C, the r eaction is severely retarded. At
15-20°C it is plea s antly quick, an d at 35 -50°C it is very ac tive.
In order to speed the process, firs t al ways remove oil & greases by using dedicated detergent
prior to derusting.
PICKLING ACTION: It is ne c essary to g r a n t the minimum c o n t a c t time with r u s t and

The b l ack is c a rbon from the steel. Muc h of t h e carbon ca n b e pa rtially removed s i m pl y by
wiping with a cloth.
The black f i l m is ca rbon from t h e s t e e l . S t e e l is composed o f a combination o f c a rbo n and
iron. This is a natural ph e n om e n o n th at chemists refer t o as carbon migra t i o n .
The carbon from t he steel moves, o r migrates, t o the o uter la yer o f the metal and se t tles into
the pores.
The r e m o v al o f the r ust ( i r o n o xide) reduces th e prop o rtion o f i ron to c a r b on, l eaving a hi g her
concentration of carbo n on the outer surfa c e .
This hea v i e r layer o f carbon c o ul d cause a d arkening o f the m e t al due t o th e attributes o f the
carbon.
The darkening does not h a v e a n ad verse effect on the metal.
It merely r epresents t h e m ovement o f carbon f r om the i nterior of the m e tal to t h e exterior o f

It is highly recommended to ful ly immerse the metal it e m s , because so me items no t fully
immersed for ext e nded p e r i o d s m a y experience etching a t the wa ter - l i n e .
