2. Installing the CO

Cylinder

1. Open the CO

cylinder cover.

• The sparkling water maker is turned o by default. Since the sparkling water

maker is turned o, the “OFF” icon on the display is turned on.

2. Connect the CO

cylinder to the regulator. Turn the CO

cylinder clockwise to

install it.

• You must use a Sodastream™ CO

cylinder (60 L).

• Replacement SodaStream cylinders are available for easy exchange at over

10,000 locations. (USA/Canada)

• Replacement SodaStream cylinders are available for easy exchange or reﬁll at

local Sodastream retailers. (Australia/New Zealand)

• Visit for more information.

• Wrap the used cylinder and return it to the person who delivers the new cylinder in USA and

Canada. In Australia and New Zealand, please return empty CO

3. Push the installed CO

cylinder fully into the cylinder case.

4. To lock the CO

cylinder, push the safety lever down.

• The lever may be sti due to the internal pressure of the CO

cylinder. In this

case, hold the lever as shown by the ﬁgure on the right and press it down

ﬁrmly.

• If you do not lock the CO

cylinder, the sparkling water maker will not work.

• If the CO

cylinder is not ﬁrmly connected to the regulator, CO

gas may leak

with a “hissing” sound. In this case, repeat step 2, 3 and 4 to properly install

the CO

cylinder.

5. The sparkling water concentration is set to '2' by default. Press the "Sparkling Water" button to

set the concentration to a desired level and hold down the "Sparkling Water" button for 3 seconds

to reset the CO

cylinder. Once the CO

cylinder is reset, sparkling water is produced.

• To produce sparkling water, the sparkling water tank is ﬁlled with water and the CO

gas is

injected according to the conﬁgured concentration.

• To remove foreign substances that may exist in the sparkling water tank, discard the ﬁrst 1.2L

of sparkling water.

• The sparkling water will not dispense while it is producing. When the numbers ( ) next to the

sparkling water icon stops blinking, Sparkling water can be dispensed.

Press 3 seconds

• To Uninstall the CO

cylinder, follow the above step #1 ~ #4 in reverse order.

If sparkling water is produced when the internal refrigerator temperature or the temperature of

the CO

cylinder is high, you may hear a “horn sound” When you turn on your refrigerator for the

ﬁrst time, you should not generate sparkling water production until after approximately 2 hours.

When you purchase a new CO

cylinder, be sure to store it in a cool dry place until you are ready

to install it (23 ~ 68 °F (-5 ~ 20 °C)). If the cylinder is stored in higher temperatures, it may build

up extra internal pressure, which could create a “horn sound” when sparkling water is produced.

3. Using the Sparkling Water

Dispenser

NOTE

• If you press the "Water" lever, normal water will be dispensed

regardless of the sparkling water setting.

• If you press the "Ice/Sparkling" lever, sparkling water or ice

will be dispensed depending on the setting. (If you select the

“Sparkling Water” button, the sparkling water icon is displayed

and the previously selected ice icon is turned o.)

• If there is no sparkling water in the sparkling water tank, the

sparkling water maker is operating or the CO

cylinder is empty,

no sparkling water will be dispensed even if you press the lever.

- While producing sparkling water, the numbers next to the

sparkling water icon blink.

• If you use up the CO

gas in the cylinder, the density of the CO

gas in the produced sparkling water may be very low. In this

case, replace the CO

cylinder with a new one. After replacing

the CO

cylinder, you have to hold down the "Sparkling Water"

button for 3 seconds to reset the cylinder in order to start the

sparkling water production.

• If you hold down the "Sparkling Water" button for 3 seconds, the cylinder is reset and sparkling

water is immediately produced. In this case, the amount of CO

gas injection increases and the

of the sparkling water may be high.

• When the sparkling water module is ‘o’ (the ‘o’ icon over the sparkling water icon is on), if you

hold down the "Cubed/Crushed" button for 3 seconds, the sparkling water maker immediately

produces sparkling water.

• If you are not planning to use the sparkling water maker for an extended period of time, hold down

the "Cubed/Crushed" button for 3 seconds to turn the sparkling water maker o. Even if you stop

the sparkling water maker, sparkling water will be dispensed as long as sparkling water remains

in the sparkling water tank. (Stopping the sparkling water maker means disabling the automatic

sparkling water production function.)

USING THE SPARKLING WATER DISPENSER

1. Install the Sodastream™ CO

cylinder.

2. Press the "Sparkling Water" button to select a gas concentration level for the sparkling water.

- The default concentration level setting of a new product is Level 2. Pressing the "Sparkling

Water" button changes the level in the following order: Level 2 → Level 3 → Level 1 → Level 2 .

- Level 1 is low concentration (Approximately 3g/L), Level 2 is medium concentration

(Approximately 5g/L), Level 3 is high concentration (Approximately 7g/L).

3. Pressing the "Sparkling Water" button for 3 seconds resets the CO

cylinder. The sparkling water

maker produces sparkling water at the selected concentration level.

4. While sparkling water is being produced, the numbers next to the sparkling water icon blink.

- The time required to produce sparkling water is determined by the conﬁgured concentration.

(Level 1: Approx. 10 mins; Level 2: Approx. 20 mins; Level 3: Approx. 30 mins)

- You Cannot change the concentration while producing sparkling water

- Even if you stop the production of sparkling water (Sparkling O) during the operation, sparkling

water will continue to be produced for that operation. The changed setting is applied once the

operation is complete and the automatic sparkling water production function is disabled.

5. When the sparkling water production is complete, the numbers next to the sparkling water icon

stop blinking.

6. If you press the "Ice/Sparkling" lever after selecting the "Sparkling Water" button, the produced

sparkling water is dispensed.

- If the sparkling water in the sparkling water tank runs out while sparkling water is being

extracted, more sparkling water is automatically produced at the previously conﬁgured CO

concentration.

- If there is less than 12 oz (340 ml) sparkling water remaining in the sparkling water tank

and the sparkling water extraction lever is not moved for a pre-determined period of time

(approx. 30 mins), sparkling water is automatically produced at the previously conﬁgured CO

concentration. (In this case, since the sparkling water already in the sparkling water tank is

mixed with the newly produced sparkling water, the CO

concentration of the water may dier

from the conﬁgured concentration.)

5. FAQ – Sparkling Water Dispenser

(1) "I pressed the Ice/Sparkling lever but ice is dispensed instead of sparkling water."

[ Procedures to dispense sparkling water ]

1. Is the ice ( , ) selected on the display panel?

2. If the ice icon has been selected, press the "Sparkling Water" button to select the sparkling

water option ( ) and then press the "Ice/Sparkling" lever.

(2) "I pressed the Ice/Sparkling lever but no sparkling water is dispensed."

[ Producing / O ]

1. Press the "Sparkling Water" button and then try again.

2. Check if the numbers ( ) next to the sparkling water icon are blinking. If they are, it means

that sparkling water is being produced. While sparkling water is being produced, no sparkling

water is dispensed. When the sparkling water production is complete, the numbers stop

blinking and you can dispense sparkling water.

3. If there is no blinking icon on the display panel, check if the ( ) icon is displayed over the

sparkling water icon. This indicates that the sparkling water tank is empty but the automatic

sparkling water production function is turned o so that sparkling water is not being produced.

To produce sparkling water, press and hold the "Sparkling Water" button for 3 seconds to reset

the cylinder and start the production.

4. If sparkling water is not yet coming out, the CO

cylinder may be empty. In this case, replace

the CO

cylinder.

After replacing the CO

cylinder, press and hold the "Sparkling Water" button for 3seconds to

reset the CO

cylinder. Then, sparkling water is produced.

A. Check if the refrigerator door is open.

- When the refrigerator door is open, the sparkling water, water and ice dispenser functions

do not work. Therefore, close the door to use the function.

B. Check if the Child Lock function ( ) is enabled.

- When the Child Lock function is enabled, the sparkling water, water and ice dispenser

functions do not work. To disable or enable the Child Lock function, press and hold the Ice

O button for 3 seconds.

(3) "The CO

gas concentration of the produced sparkling water is too low"

[CO

concentration control 1]

1. If the concentration setting was or , change the setting to or for producing

sparkling water the next time. ( : Low, : Medium , : High)

Note that the changed concentration setting is only applied to the subsequent production.

2. If the conﬁgured concentration was set to the high level (for example, the concentration level

was ) but the concentration of the produced sparkling water is low, the CO

gas in the CO

cylinder may be empty.

In this case, replace the CO

cylinder. After replacing the CO

cylinder, press and hold the

"Sparkling Water" button for 3 seconds to reset the CO

cylinder.Then, sparkling water is

produced.

(4) "The CO

gas concentration of the produced sparkling water is too high."

[CO

concentration control 2]

1. If the concentration setting was or , change the setting to or for producing

sparkling water the next time. ( : Low, : Medium , : High)

Note that the changed concentrating setting is only applied to the subsequent production.

2. Set the concentration setting to a low level when producing sparkling water the next time and

try to produce sparkling water after emptying the sparkling water tank.

- To empty the sparkling water tank, select the "Sparkling O" option and dispense all the

remaining sparkling water. After emptying the sparkling water, press and hold the "Sparkling

Water" button for 3 seconds to reset the cylinder and activate the sparkling water maker.

✽ Did you reset the cylinder by pressing the "Sparkling Water" button and holding for 3

seconds? If there was still water in the tank before sparkling water is produced, sparkling

water of a higher concentration than conﬁgured may be produced. However, once the

sparkling water tank is emptied, sparkling water at the conﬁgured concentration will be

produced.

(5) "I changed the CO

gas concentration level but the level of the produced sparkling

water didn’t change." [CO

concentration control 3]

1. If you change the concentration level, the new level is applied to the subsequent production.

That is, the change does not aect the sparkling water in the sparkling water tank nor does

it aect the sparkling water production currently in progress.The change is only applied to

subsequent productions.

2. To produce sparkling water at the precise conﬁgured concentration level, empty the sparkling

water tank, set the concentration to the desired level and then produce sparkling water.

- To empty the sparkling water tank, select the “Sparkling O” option and dispense all the

remaining sparkling water. After emptying the sparkling water tank, press and hold the

"Sparkling Water" button again for 3 seconds to reset the cylinder and start the sparkling

water maker.

✽ If there was still water in the tank before sparkling water is produced, sparkling water of a

higher concentration than conﬁgured may be produced. You have to empty the sparkling

water tank completely to produce sparkling water at the conﬁgured CO

concentration.

(6) "I replaced the depleted CO

cylinder with a new CO

cylinder but no sparkling water is

being produced.:" [ Replacing the cylinder]

1. After replacing the CO

cylinder, be sure to press and hold the "Sparkling Water" button for 3

seconds to reset the CO

cylinder.

Only after the CO

cylinder is reset, is sparkling water being produced.

(7) "Sparkling water suddenly stops being dispensed even though the operation is still in

progress." [ No sparkling water ]

1. Check if the numbers ( ) next to the sparkling water icon are blinking. If they are blinking, it

indicates that the sparkling water tank is being emptied and sparkling water is being produced.

When the production is complete, you can enjoy drinking sparkling water.

2. If there is no blinking icon on the display panel, check if the ( ) icon is displayed over the

sparkling water icon.

This indicates that the sparkling water tank is empty but the automatic sparkling water

production function is turned o so that sparkling water is not being produced. To produce

sparkling water, press and hold the "Sparkling Water" button for 3 seconds to reset the cylinder

and start the production.

(8) "I pressed the “Sparkling O” button but sparkling water continues to be dispensed."

[Sparkling O vs. Sparkling Water]

1. Even if you press the Sparkling O button, sparkling water is dispensed for as long as there is

sparkling water in the sparkling water tank.

2. If you do not use the sparkling water maker for an extended period of time, stop the automatic

sparkling water production function and remove the sparkling water through the dispenser.

(9) "Not enough water is entering…" [ Water supply]

1. Please check if the tap water faucet or valve is closed or the hose is bent and that water is

supplied normally. If the tap water pressure is too low, the sparkling water maker may not work

properly as there is insucient water supply to the sparkling water tank.

2. When the water is supplied to the sparking water tank from a water puriﬁer, sparkling water

may not be produced properly because too much water is required for a short period of time.

It is recommended not dispensing water from a water puriﬁer while starting to make sparkling

water. (up to 5 minutes)

3. If the problem continues, please contact the water puriﬁer manufacturer or ask a plumber to

increase the tap water pressure to a normal level.

(10) "The sparkling water is not cold enough and tastes ﬂat.…"

[ Sparkling Water Taste and Temperature Management]

1. If you continuously produce a lot of sparkling water, you may not be able to enjoy the true taste

of sparkling water because there is too little time to cool the water. To drink sparkling water at

its optimal state, you have to ensure sucient cooling time when you dispense sparkling water.

2. It is recommended dispensing sparkling water at least 4 hours after connecting the tap water to

the refrigerator.

(11) "I pressed the Sparkling O button but the sparkling water maker is not turned o."

[ Turning o the function while producing]

1. Check if the numbers ( ) next to the sparkling water icon are blinking. If they are blinking, it

indicates that sparkling water is being produced and cannot be stopped immediately.

However, if you press and hold the "Sparkling O" button for 3 seconds during the production,

then the OFF icon over the Sparkling icon will be activated and it will stop the auto sparkling

water making operation from next time on.

(12) "I cannot change the gas concentration of the sparkling water."

[ The concentration control function is disabled during a production]

1. Check if the numbers ( ) next to the sparkling water icon are blinking. If they are blinking,

it indicates that sparkling water is being produced. Since the sparkling water concentration

cannot be changed during a production operation, change the concentration level when the

production is complete and the blinking stops. Sparkling water at the conﬁgured concentration

level will be produced the next time.

(13) “Sparkling water is produced continuously.” [The refrigerator door is open or the

sparkling water production time has not been reached.]

1. Has the sparkling water production time been reached?

- The time when sparkling water is generated is determined by the conﬁgured concentration.

(Level 1: Approx. 10 mins; Level 2: Approx. 20 mins; Level 3: Approx. 30 mins)

- Please wait until the sparkling water production time has been reached.

2. Check if the refrigerator door is open.

- If the refrigerator door is open, the sparkling water maker stops to prevent noise that is

generated by the sparkling water production.

- For this reason, the time during which sparkling water is produced may be extended according

to the conﬁgured concentration.

- Close the refrigerator door and wait until the sparkling water production time has been reached.

6. Optimum Operating Environment

“It is recommended that

you only drink sparkling

water after suciently

cooling it.”

• Since the temperature of the sparkling water greatly aects the

taste of the water, if the temperature of water is not suciently low,

you may not be able to get the right taste of the sparkling water.

• It is generally recommended dispensing sparkling water by pressing

and holding the "Sparkling Water" button for 3 seconds to reset the

cylinder and start producing sparkling water at least 4 hours after

connecting the tap water.

• Additionally, when you produce sparkling water, it is recommended

producing sparkling water without dispensing too much Still Water

so that sparkling water is produced with cold water.

• If you drink 0.5 gallons (2 liters) or more a day, the water may not

be cooled suciently.

• After producing sparkling water, it is recommended putting the

sparkling water in an air-tight container and keeping it cold for

better taste.

• Since the current system does not produce sparkling water by

considering the CO

gas in the remaining sparkling water in the

sparkling water tank, even if you've changed the concentration

level, the resulting concentration may dier depending on the

remaining sparkling water in the sparkling water tank.

• If you haven't used the sparkling water function for an extended

period of time (one week or longer), it is helpful to ﬁrst remove all

the sparkling water and then re-produce sparkling water in order to

improve the quality of the sparkling water.

• On the contrary, if you want a higher CO

concentration of sparkling

water (higher than level 3),you can increase the concentration by

pressing and holding the "Sparkling Water" button for 3 seconds to

reset the cylinder and start the sparkling water production.

• If the time when to replace the CO

cylinder comes closer, the

concentration decreases and the water extraction becomes

weaker.

de manera tal que quede totalmente instalado dentro del

compartimiento para el cilindro.

4. Para trabar el cilindro de CO

, presione la palanca de seguridad hacia abajo.

• Es posible que la palanca esté dura debido a la presión interna del cilindro de

. En ese caso, sostenga la palanca como se muestra en la ﬁgura de la

derecha y presiónela hacia abajo con ﬁrmeza.

• Si no traba el cilindro de CO

, la fábrica de agua con gas no funcionará.

• Si el cilindro de CO

no se encuentra bien conectado al regulador, puede haber

pérdidas de gas CO

que producen un sonido sibilante. En ese caso, repita los

pasos 2, 3 y 4 para instalar el cilindro de CO

adecuadamente.

5. Por defecto, la concentración de agua con gas viene conﬁgurada en '2'. Presione el botón

“Sparkling Water” (Agua con gas) para conﬁgurar la concentración en el nivel deseado y

mantenga dicho botón presionado durante 3 segundos para restablecer el cilindro de CO

. Una

vez restablecido el cilindro de CO

, se produce agua con gas.

• Para producir agua con gas, el tanque de agua con gas se llena con agua y el gas CO

inyecta según la concentración conﬁgurada.

• Para quitar las sustancias extrañas que pueda haber en el tanque de agua con gas, deseche

los primeros 1,2 L de agua con gas.

• No se dispensa agua con gas cuando está produciéndose. Cuando los números ( ) junto

al ícono de agua con gas dejan de parpadear, se puede dispensar agua con gas.

Presione por 3 segundos

• Para desinstalar el cilindro de CO

, siga los pasos 1 a 4 anteriores en orden inverso.

Si el agua con gas es producida cuando la temperatura interna del refrigerador o la temperatura

del cilindro de CO

es alta, puede escuchar un sonido de corneta.

Cuando encienda el refrigerador por primera vez, no debe generar agua con gas sino hasta

despues de aproximadamente 2 horas Cuando compre un nuevo cilindro de CO

, asegurese de

almacenarlo en un lugar fresco y seco hasta que este listo para instalarlo 23 ~ 68 °F (-5 ~ 20 °C).

Si el cilindro es almacenado a temperaturas mayores, puede generar presion interna extra, lo cual

puede crear sonidos de corneta cuando se produzca el agua con gas.

3. Uso del dispensador de agua con

gas

NOTA

• Si presiona la palanca "Water" (Agua), el refrigerador dispensará

agua normal, independientemente de la conﬁguración del agua

con gas.

• Si presiona la palanca "Ice/Sparkling" (Hielo/Agua con gas),

el refrigerador dispensará agua con gas o hielo según la

conﬁguración. (Si selecciona el botón “Sparkling Water” (Agua

con gas), aparecerá el ícono de agua con gas y se apagará el

ícono del hielo seleccionado anteriormente).

• Si no hay agua con gas en el tanque de agua con gas, la fábrica

de agua con gas está en funcionamiento o el cilindro de CO

está vacío, el refrigerador no dispensará agua con gas aunque

presione la palanca.

- Mientras se produce el agua con gas, los números junto al

ícono de agua con gas parpadean.

• Si se consume el gas CO

del cilindro, la densidad del gas CO

en el agua con gas producida puede ser muy baja. En ese

caso, reemplace el cilindro de CO

por otro nuevo. Después

de remplazar el cilindro de CO

, debe mantener presionado el

botón "Sparkling Water" (Agua con gas) durante 3 segundos

para restablecer el cilindro y comenzar la producción de agua

con gas.

• Si mantiene presionado el botón "Sparkling Water" (Agua con gas) durante 3 segundos, el cilindro

se restablece e inmediatamente se produce el agua con gas. En ese caso, la cantidad de la

inyección de gas CO

aumenta y el CO

del agua con gas puede ser elevado.

• Si mantiene presionado el botón Cubed/Crushed (Cubos/Triturado) durante 3 segundos cuando

el módulo de agua con gas está en la posición ‘o’ (apagado) (el ícono ‘o’ sobre el ícono de

agua con gas está encendido), la fábrica de agua con gas comenzará a producir agua con gas de

inmediato.

• Si planea no utilizar la fábrica de agua con gas por un período de tiempo prolongado, mantenga

presionado el botón Cubed/Crushed (Cubos/Triturado) durante 3 segundos para apagar la fábrica

de agua con gas. El refrigerador seguirá dispensando agua con gas mientras haya agua con gas

en el tanque de agua con gas, incluso cuando detenga la fábrica de agua con gas. (Detener la

fábrica de agua con gas signiﬁca deshabilitar la función de producción automática de agua con

gas).
